“We promise that every meal with Big Boi’s BBQ will produce mouth watering sensations by tantalizing your taste buds with our magnificent assortment of BBQ sauces and rubs”. ~ Big Curt.
The birth of Big Boi’s BBQ started when Curt Sheard was only eight years old and his momma told him, “if you’re hungry, you need to learn how to cook.” From that day he embarked on a culinary journey. It wasn’t until the late nineties that Curt stumbled upon the initial recipe for Big Boi’s BBQ sauce. This came about from using anything he could find in the cabinets and then adding his secret ingredient, a cold beer.
He persevered and burned hundreds of dollars of meat and destroyed a few grills along the way, but the passion still burned. He built his own grill, a coffin-looking contraption named Bertha in front of his parent’s house. He grilled everyday and soon developed a following in the neighborhood. The UPS guy, the FedEx driver, and local policemen were his regulars. They would drive by his house and place orders by yelling, “Hey Big Boi, fix me up some of your fine BBQ.” That is how the name Big Boi’s BBQ came to be
I love what they are doing at Big Boi’s BBQ, and I want to be apart of it!
